In the first half of 2022, Zhongshan continued to encourage enterprises to develop high-value intellectual property rights and increase their number of valid invention patents by setting up special funds as incentives.

In the first half, Zhongshan adds 21,541 authorized patents (including 922 invention patents), up 13.27% year-on-year and ranking fifth in Guangdong, and 10,348 valid invention patents, up 14.85% year-on-year. The number of invention patents per 10,000 people was 23.17, ranking sixth in Guangdong.

In the first half, Zhongshan pledged 2.39 billion yuan in intellectual property financing, 400% more than in the previous year. New progress has been made in the construction of Guangdong's first new intellectual property rights (IPR) protection system, which involves the construction of one national IPR protection center, one national IPR rapid protection center "Zhongshan (Lighting) IPR Rapid Protection Center", as well as many municipal IPR rapid protection service centers, trademark brand cultivation and guidance stations, enterprise-based intellectual property protection offices, and others.

As of now, 15 trademark cultivation and guidance stations have been put into operation in Zhongshan, providing convenient and efficient intellectual property services for market entities.
