A medical team consisting of 13 medical workers from Zhongshan left for Gongbujiangda County, Tibet on August 21 to provide support on epidemic prevention and control.
The 13 team members consist of experts in respiratory medicine, emergency treatment, intensive care medicine, clinical laboratory operation, nursing, hospital infection management and epidemiology surveying from Zhongshan People's Hospital, Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhongshan Bo'ai Hospital, Guzhen People's Hospital, Shaxi Longdu Hospital, Huangpu People's Hospital, Dongfeng People's Hospital, Banfu Hospital and the Zhongshan Center for Disease Controal and Prevention. They will provide guidance and assistance on epidemic prevention and control in Gongbujiangda County.
Most of these medical workers have previously participated in medical aid work in Tibet, so that they are familiar with local medical care and people's living conditions. They will join up with the 8 Zhongshan medical workers that currently work in Tibet.
