A voluntary tree planting activity was carried out province-wide on February 13 to promote the construction of a green and beautiful Guangdong.

Zhongshan took part in the activity with citywide efforts. Nearly 10,000 people, including forest chiefs at the city, town and village levels, government functionaries, people from all walks of life, teachers and students, entrepreneurs and volunteers, participated in the activity to promote the high-quality development of a green, beautiful and eco-friendly Zhongshan.

Zhongshan set up a main planting site, two sub planting sites, 23 town (district) planting sites as well as 158 village (community) planting sites. Over 17,000 green seedlings including Camphora officinarum, Ilex rotunda, Aquilaria sinensis, Saraca asoca and Sterculia lanceolata were planted, covering a total area of 14.2 hectares.

In 2022, some 3.02 million people in Zhongshan participated in voluntary tree planting activities and planted 9.52 million trees in total.
