The first two city-level "gig markets" in Zhongshan were unveiled and put into operation in East District and South District respectively on November 13.
"Gig job" is a popular term for freelance work that has no long-term commitment. Most gig workers are employed on a part-time or hourly basis. The gig market refers to an online platform built to match gig workers with the demand side, so as to help them get employed.
Staff members of the gig markets will regularly gather the information regarding employers'needs and publish the information online through the "Zhongshan Public Recruitment (中山公共招聘)" platform, aiming to realize fast and accurate matching of employers and job seekers with big data tools.
The gig markets will provide a wide range of services for laborers of new forms of work and key employment groups, such as career guidance, recruitment activities, vocational training, job recommendation, skill training, labor rights consultation, and etc.
Currently, information of over 100 job positions, with a highest monthly salary of 10,000 yuan, is available on the "Gig Market" online platform of East District.
