The Research Center for International Inspection and Quarantine Standards and Technical Regulations of General Administration of Customs, Gongbei Customs and the Zhongshan municipal government on November 14 signed an agreement to jointly build the "Zhongshan Research and Evaluation Base of Technical Measures to Trade for Optoelectronic Products, WTO/TBT-SPS National Notification and Enquiry of China".

It marked the beginning of a new construction phase of the only research and evaluation base for optoelectronic products in China. Representatives of over 20 export-oriented optoelectronic enterprises in Zhongshan participated in the ceremony.

The three parties will co-build the evaluation base in Zhongshan, which is renowned as the "Lighting Capital in China". It will further strengthen Zhongshan's leading position in the domestic lighting industry, enhance the overall capability of the optoelectronic industry to cope with foreign technical trade measures, and facilitate the cultivation of new advantages to participate in international cooperation and competition.

At the signing ceremony, the Electric Lighting Industry Association of Zhongshan City and the Zhongshan Semiconductor Lighting Industry Association were unveiled as studios of the evaluation base.
