Certificates of origin (C/Os) under the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement issued by Zhongshan Customs accounts for more than 40% of the preferential C/Os of all types in Zhongshan. So far this year, the value of goods for these C/Os has exceeded 1.9 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of about 63%.
Zhongshan-based company Homa is one of the largest professional refrigerator manufacturers in China. During the Spring Festival holiday, Zhongshan Customs received a call from Homa, saying that the company need to export a batch of refrigerators to Indonesia immediately.
Zhongshan Customs promptly initiated an appointment response mechanism and proactively contacted the company. With the assistance of Zhongshan Customs, 45 containers loaded with Homa's refrigerator products departed for Indonesia.
"Certificates of origin also bring us a preferential tariff of 680,000 yuan," said Feng Changjiang, Homa's international marketing chief.
