The Zhongshan Housing Development and Security Plan 2018-2035 was just released. According to the plan, Zhongshan will focus on the supply-side structural reform of housing and build a housing supply and security system that has multi-body supply and multi-channel support and encourages both renting and purchasing.

Zhongshan's short-range housing construction plan is to complete various types of housing with a total construction area of approximately 36.6 million square meters from 2021 to 2025, including 32.34 million square meters for commercial housing. A total of 10,000 public housing units will be offered, with a land area of about 1,220 hectares.

From 2026 to 2035, a total of 70.1 million square meters of housing will be supplied, including 61.47 million square meters for commercial housing.

Zhongshan will also strengthen the allocation of public rental housing, and gradually bring eligible newly employed workers, migrant workers and special workers in the public service sector into the scope of public rental housing. Meanwhile, experts' housing support will also be strengthened.
