Zhongshan on the afternoon of July 27 held its 81st press conference on epidemic prevention and control.
From July 31 to August 1, Zhongshan will provide vaccination services specially for students aged 15-17 with the first dose of the vaccine. The second-dose vaccination is planned to be completed by the end of August.
Students should follow the arrangements of their schools but may also choose to get vaccinated at local vaccination sites in the towns and sub-districts where they live. However, they must be accompanied by a guardian for the vaccination.
Foreign students should be vaccinated at Zhongshan Torch International Exhibition Center. Students who are covered by Guangdong province's social security insurance, or exchange students from countries under reciprocal treatments are free of charge, while others should be vaccinated at their own expense.
Vaccination for students aged 12-14 is expected to begin in early August. At present, only two kinds of inactivated vaccines against COVID-19 can be used for people aged 12-17, including vaccines produced and sub-packaged by the Beijing Institute Biological Products Co Ltd and Sinovac Research & Development Co Ltd.
