A simulation 5-man boat race took place at the Nantou Water Sports Park on the morning of September 9. A total of 59 teams from 6 communities in Nantou Town participated in the game.

"We hold simulation race every weekend. This game serves as a rehearsal for the upcoming tournament later this month," said an official with the publicity office of Nantou.

The 2023 Zhongshan Nantou 5-man Boat Race will begin on September 28, and the registration will be open to the entire city.

In 2010, Nantou 5-man Boat Race was listed as one of the third municipal intangible cultural heritage items. It was also included in the fourth Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2011.
