The 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Zhongshan Sanjiao) Three-player Root Boat Race took place in Zhongshan's Sanjiao Town on September 16. A total of 108 teams with over 320 rowers from across the Greater Bay Area joined the exciting water competition.

The winners were announced after two hours' competition. They were awarded with trophies and silk banners in addition to such prizes as roast pig, rice wine, Luosan umbrellas and Gaobiao cloth.

The three-player root boat race is a traditional sports event with a history of over 100 years in Sanjiao Town. It is popular among the local people.
