The Zhongshan OCT Harbour theme park was announced to start construction on September 27, also the World Tourism Day, during the  opening ceremony of the 2021 OCT Cultural Tourism Festival (Zhongshan OCT Harbour Happy Season).

The theme park will become the first one in the Greater Bay Area themed on "Future Technology" and "Jungle Exploration". Blended with "Zhongshan spirit", the park is designed to provide tourists with unique, diverse and joyful experience through the "past, present and future" scenarios.

The Zhongshan OCT Harbour Happy Season will last until December 31, during which citizens will have an opportunity to experience nature education, music live shows, design competitions among other activities.

At the signing ceremony held later that day, the Shenzhen Branch of China Development Bank signed a financing cooperation agreement with Zhongshan OCT. A credit line of 400 million yuan will be offered to finance the construction of the theme park.
