The main area of the Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Park opened to the public on January 28. Residents are welcome to visit the park for recreation and experiencing the breathtaking scenery of retro charm and modern architecture.
After 10 months of construction, the former Zhongshan Nursing Home, funded by overseas Chinese, had been turned into an overseas Chinese culture-themed park with modern design, garden landscape, and a scenery line combining simple buildings, lawns and pools.
The most eye-catching white modern complex newly built along Qiwan Avenue is called the Wenhua Place. It consists of several single-story buildings, with corridors connecting outside, and an open entrance formed by pool steps and sloping lawns. Passers-by or residents can enter the park through the steps at any time.
The park also includes such scenic spots as the forest square, the palm square, and the rainbow observation bridge. It employs the Sponge City concept to create a cultural and ecological environment for harmonious development.
