??The reporter learned from the municipal environmental protection department that in order to further improve the quality of atmospheric environment, the government recently publishes the “Notice of Extending the Range of ‘Pollution Fuel Restricted Zone’” (Exposure Draft). The government is planning to expand the coverage of “Pollution Fuel Restricted Zone” to the whole city, where highly polluting fuels-using facilities are prohibited under construction, rebuilding and extension.
??According to the existing environmental protection laws and regulations in Zhongshan, there are 10 townships defined as “Pollution Fuel Restricted Zone”: Torch Zone, Shiqi District, East District , West District, South District, Wuguishan District, Nanlong Town, Shaxi Town, Dachong Town and Gangkou Town.
??The notice clearly calls for a ban on the sale and combustion of highly polluting fuels. Highly polluting fuels-using facilities are also prohibited under construction, rebuilding and extension.
??The notice is publicized. Citizens or enterprises can give feedback by August 30.
