Zhongshan once again raises the minimum living allowance for urban and rural residents from January 1, 2019, according to an announcement released few days ago by the Zhongshan Civil Affairs Bureau and the Zhongshan Financial Affairs Bureau.
The standard increases 7.6% from previous 976 yuan per month to current 1,050 yuan per month. Township governments will issue the allowance in accordance with the new standard from April on, and reissue the margins for the first three months this year.
As the minimum living allowance standard is elevated, the identification standard for “low-income family” is also adjusted, from 1,051 yuan to 1,575 yuan (1.5 times of the minimum living allowance standard). Meanwhile, for low-income families with two elders, members of low-income families with serious disease patients, juveniles of low-income families, and single-parent low-income families, each member can receive an additional bailout subsidy of 420 yuan per month.
The Zhongshan Civil Affairs Bureau this year will also introduce a set of measures for the minimum living allowance implementation and financial salvation for low-income families and properly reduce the identification requirements for low-income families.
