The Zhongshan Bureau of Commerce recently solicited opinions and suggestions from the public on the first draft of the Zhongshan Specialized Markets Development Plan for the14th Five-Year Period (2021-2025).
According to the Plan, by 2025, two specialized market clusters with an annual turnover of over 10 billion yuan, 5 specialized markets with an annual turnover of over 1 billion yuan, and 10 specialized market clusters worth over 100 million yuan will be built to lift the total revenue of Zhongshan's specialized markets to about 170 billion yuan.
It is reported that the Guzhen lighting industry, which takes up 70% of the domestic lighting market and whose products are exported to over 100 countries and regions worldwide, is one of Zhongshan's well-touted traditional industries. In addition to traditional stores, there are also many specialized markets in Guzhen town. Meanwhile, the Longrui International Garment City and Water Buffalo City, both nearby the Zhongshan Bus Terminal, were also well-known wholesale trading centers for clothing in the past.
According to the Plan, the two professional market clusters exceeding 10 billion yuan are expected to provide 20,000 new jobs. To support the Plan, the two markets will be integrated into large-scale professional commodity wholesale markets which rely on the display and sale of goods in urban areas and warehousing and logistics in suburban areas. At the same time, intelligent logistics and technology in warehouses will be promoted to improve the efficiency of commodity circulation.
In addition, 5 specialized markets with a transaction volume of over 1 billion yuan and over 2,000 employees will also be established and offer over 2,000 jobs. These markets cover such industries as wood furniture, hardware and electromechanical equipment, games and amusement, horticulture, and smart home appliance.
