The South District Public Legal Service Center for Overseas Chinese was unveiled recently.
Jointly established by the Zhongshan Bureau of Justice and the South District Office, the center is the first of its kind in Zhongshan that provides lawyer service, notary public service, judicial expertise, legal advice, legal aid, legal publicity, mediation and other public legal services for returned overseas Chinese and their relatives, overseas Chinese, as well as compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
There are a lot of characteristic overseas Chinese houses in South District, but many of them are under ownerless management, or their owners living abroad for a long time fail to maintain or revitalize the houses.
"The center will offer customized notary services for the protection and development of overseas Chinese houses, such as micro renovation," said an official with the Zhongshan Bureau of Justice. The center is engaged in notary matters concerning heirship, kinship, entrustment, preservation of evidence, agreements and notarial consignation in regard to the transfer registration of overseas Chinese houses, status quo solidification and compensation. It also provides a full range of notary services for returned overseas Chinese and their relatives, overseas Chinese, as well as compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, covering schooling, employment, business engagement, medicare and elderly service.
