On August 29, the final box girder of Hengmen West Grand Bridge, part of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway, was installed over the Jiya Waterway.

Hengmen West Grand Bridge is a significant control project of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway. It is also the largest-span single-pylon integral steel box girder cable-stayed bridge currently under construction in China. The entire Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway is planned to be completed and open to traffic concurrently with the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge in 2024.
