Guangdong is scheduled to hold its provincial high-quality development conference on February 18, the first working day after the Chinese New Year holiday.
A plenary session will be held in the morning, and the whole process will be live-streamed. In the afternoon, there will be five group discussions on topics such as the High-quality Development Project for Guangdong Counties, Towns, and Villages, accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system, implementing the innovation-driven development strategy, enhancing talent cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and empowering support of the financial sector to high-tech enterprises.
Senior government officials, business leaders, and top scholars will gather to engage in in-depth discussions and exchange insights to contribute wisdom and strength to Guangdong's high-quality development.
According to the 2024 Report on the Work of the Guangdong Government, the province's GDP reached 13.57 trillion yuan in 2023, with a growth rate of 4.8%. As China's largest provincial economy, Guangdong has been the top-ranking province in terms of economic output for 35 consecutive years, becoming the first province in China with a GDP exceeding 13 trillion yuan.
