The Zhongshan municipal government, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GZUCM), the First Affiliated Hospital of GZUCM and Sanxiang town government signed an agreement on March 5. The four parties will jointly build the Zhongshan branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of GZUCUM.
The project aims to integrate the new and old hospital areas of Sanxiang Hospital. With GZUCM and its affiliated hospital's superior resources in terms of brand, management, techniques, talent, scientific research and teaching, Sanxiang Hospital (Zhongshan branch) will be planned and operated by the First Affiliated Hospital of GZUCM. In 5 to 10 years, it aims to develop into a regional medical hub in southern Zhongshan featuring traditional Chinese medicine, and a well-known modern, intelligent and high-level grade-A tertiary TCM hospital in the Greater Bay Area and the whole country.
The hospital project will have 800 beds and cover 59,400 square meters, with a building area of 182,000 square meters. It is expected to be completed and put into use in early 2025.
