Classic Chaozhou Opera Li Shangyin, part of the Lin Yanyun's Chaozhou Opera National Tour, will be staged at the Zhongshan Culture & Art Center on the evening of April 25.

Adapted from a classic Yue opera show, Li Shangyinportrays the unwavering love between Li Shangyin and Wang Yunyan, as well as the emotional journey of Li Shangyin and his senior fellow apprentice Linghu Tao, who ultimately followed different paths due to their contrasting values.

Chaozhou Opera, known as the "Flowers of the South", is a regional opera performed in the Chaoshan dialect. It is one of the three major local operas in Guangdong and originated during the Ming Dynasty. In 2006, Chaozhou Opera was included in the first national intangible cultural heritage list.
