The ShenZhong Link opened to traffic on June 30, bringing Zhongshan and Shenzhen into a half-hour living circle. Many citizens from both cities experienced driving on the Link the first time.

Around 3pm on the opening day, rows of vehicles waited at the Cuiheng East tollgate amid the cheering of onlookers. They were the first general vehicles to access the Link.

Many drivers couldn't contain their excitement. "I am extremely proud to witness the prosperity of our country. ShenZhong Link, here we come!" Said a driver from Shunde.

Over 300 builders and their family members also experienced the Link by shuttle bus. "I am extremely excited and proud to be here on the ShenZhong Bridge that I took part in the construction," said a technician.

The Zhongshan terminal of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, Shenzhen-Zhongshan intercity bus service and shuttle bus service that were launched on the same day also attracted many residents.
