"Ocean X", the world's largest monolithic floating wind power platform, set sail on July 12 from Guangzhou's Nansha, heading to Mingyang Group's offshore wind farm in Yangjiang to start commissioning.
Independently developed by Mingyang Group, a company headquartered in Zhongshan, "Ocean X" features a V-shaped arrangement and is equipped with two 8.3 MW offshore wind turbines, also independently developed by Mingyang Group. With a total capacity of 16.6 MW, it can be applied to any ocean areas worldwide with water depth over 35 meters.
"Ocean X" is projected to generate approximately 54 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, which can meet the daily electricity needs of 30,000 families of three for a year.
