Since the ShenZhong Link opened on June 30, from July 1 to 28, Zhongshan received a total of 3.673 million tourists, with a year-on-year increase of 128.52%. That includes 1.0823 million overnight tourists, up 66.25% year-on-yea. The tourism revenue during the same period soared 99.10% to 2.545 billion yuan.
To better serve and attract more tourists, Zhongshan has implemented reservation-free policy on over 20 national 3A- or higher level tourist attractions, launched a month-long consumption activity, and introduced tourism maps and navigation services for characteristic food blocks.
After the opening of the ShenZhong Link, the free Shenzhen-Zhongshan bus route has made over 320 trips, serving nearly 16,000 passengers. Many specialty restaurants, homestays and hotels are almost fully booked.
As the starting point of the ShenZhong Link, Nanlang Sub-district received over 1.5 million tourists within one month, leading to a consumption of more than 70 million yuan.
