The Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC) additive center under China National Nuclear Corporation recently issued the appraisal certificate to HBD, a laser powder bed fusion technology developer and additive machine manufacturer in Zhongshan. It marked the Longyan 400 model had become the first certified 3D printer of metal for nuclear-grade products in China.
The Longyan series printers, jointly developed by HBD and the NPIC, adopt multiple measures to improve the reliability. Molten pool monitoring systems are installed to monitor the stability of the entire printing process and provide data support for the manufacturing quality of nuclear-grade products.
