Since its opening, the ShenZhong Link has significantly enhanced connectivity among cities in the Pearl River Delta. This year, it will experience its first Spring Festival (aka Chinese New Year) travel rush, and motorists using the route before and after the Chinese New Year are likely to encounter heavy traffic. Recently, the Zhongshan Traffic Police issued travel advisories for the Link during this peak period.
Predicted traffic peaks
According to the Zhongshan Traffic Police, the first major return trip peak is expected from February 3 to February 6, with east-to-west traffic potentially experiencing prolonged congestion over extended distances. A second peak is anticipated from February 12 to February 16, during which travelers heading to areas like Dongguan and Huizhou are advised to plan their routes carefully. If necessary, consider alternative routes such as the Humen Bridge.
