In July 2024, Zhongshan's consumer price index (CPI) decreased 0.5% from a year earlier and increased 0.5% from a month earlier.

Food prices declined 0.8% (year-on-year, the same below), while non-food prices dropped 0.4%. Consumer goods prices decreased by 0.6%, and service prices decreased by 0.4%.

Prices of food, tobacco and alcohol decreased 0.6%. Specifically, the price of fresh vegetables increased 5.7%, and the price of freshwater fish increased 4.4%. The price of shrimp and crab decreased 9.9%, and the price of seawater fish decreased 7.1%.

Prices of other supplies and services increased 1.7%; education, culture and entertainment prices increased 1.1%; daily necessities and services prices increased 0.8%; transportation and communication prices decreased 2.7%, housing prices decreased 0.6%, clothing prices decreased 0.3%, and medical care prices remained unchanged.
