From January to July 2024, Zhongshan's total imports and exports reached 162.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%, ranking third in the Pearl River Delta region. The total exports rose 15.6% to 142.08 billion yuan, and the total imports decreased 2.9% to 20.60 billion yuan.
The imports and exports through general trade stood at 104.59 billion, a year-on-year growth of 18.5%, accounting for 64.3% of the city's total foreign trade volume. The imports and exports through processing trade was 51.07 billion yuan, up 1% year-on-year, accounting for 31.4% of the total. The import and export of goods at bonded supervision and control sites totaled 2.47 billion yuan, showing a year-on-year increase of 15.5%.
The trade value of local domestic-funded foreign trade enterprises went up by 14.1% to 87.75 billion yuan, accounting for 53.9% of the total. and that of foreign-funded enterprises was 74.93 billion, a year-on-year growth of 8.7%, accounting for 46.1%.
The exports of home appliances soared 26.1% to 38.08 billion yuan, and the exports of lighting fixture amounted to 9.64 billion yuan, registering a year-on-year growth of 9.7%.
The city's imports and exports to traditional European and American markets reached 66.41 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 14.4%, accounting for 40.8%. The export value to emerging markets, such as BRI countries, ASEAN countries and BRICS countries, grew by over 20%. The export value to Latin American countries rose by 38.7%.
