The first phase of the 136th Canton Fair concluded on October 19, and the markets of the "Belt and Road" co-construction countries emerging had become a new focal point for participating enterprises.
"Zhongshan-made products are amazing!" Said Marcos Pereira, a purchaser from Brazil, adding that the event gave him a deeper understanding of Zhongshan's Xiaolan Town. He hoped more consumers in Brazil could get to know products made in Zhongshan.
Over 70% of Zhongshan-based electric appliance manufacturer Goldlabo's orders were from the Canton Fair. According to Lin Weiwen, a sales manager of Goldlabo, the company's clients were mainly from the "Belt and Road" co-construction countries, Europe and South America. Goldlabo is expected to achieve a 30% performance growth this year.
According to data provided by the Zhongshan Bureau of Commerce, from January to July of this year, Zhongshan has achieved significant progress in expanding emerging markets: Imports and exports to the United Arab Emirates totaled 2.77 billion yuan, up 9% year-on-year; imports and exports to Russia amounted to 4.58 billion yuan, an increase of 16.5%; imports and exports to Türkiye reached 1.88 billion yuan, up 47.6%; exports to emerging markets such as the "Belt and Road" co-construction countries, ASEAN countries and BRICS countries increased by over 20%; exports to Latin American countries grew 38.7%.
