In October 2024, Zhongshan's consumer price index (CPI) decreased by 0.7% year-on-year and increased by 0.1% month-on-month.
In October, food prices rose by 0.6% year-on-year, while non-food prices dropped 1.0%. Consumer goods prices fell by 0.7%, and service prices dropped by 0.7%.
Prices of food, tobacco and alcohol were up 0.7% YoY. The price of fresh vegetables rose by 11.0%, while the price of edible animal oil declined by 10.9%.
The prices of other goods and services increased by 2.9%, clothing prices increased by 1.7%, and prices of daily necessities and services increased by 0.3%. Transportation and communication prices decreased by 5.2%, education, culture and entertainment prices decreased by 1.8%, housing prices decreased by 0.7%, and medical care prices decreased by 0.1%.
In October, industrial product prices in Zhongshan rose by 0.1%. Due to the increase in production costs such as labor, venue, water, electricity, and raw materials, some industrial product prices rose slightly. The prices of household groceries increased by 2.2%, clothing by 0.5%, and medicines and medical devices by 0.3%.
Primarily affected by fluctuations in domestic refined oil product prices, the price of transportation fuels declined, with gasoline and diesel prices dropping by 1.5% and 1.7%, respectively.
During the National Day holiday, there was a significant increase in tourist flow and accommodation demand, with hotel accommodation prices rising by 17.2%. Also, there was an increase in tourism demand, resulting in a 5.1% increase in tour agency fees.
