Zhou Zuode, vice mayor of Zhongshan, met with a delegation led by César Andrés Gamboa, consul general of Chile in Guangzhou, and Juan Carlos Rivera Yevenes, director of cabinet, municipal government of Chillán, a sister city of Zhongshan, on November 21. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on further promoting cooperation in business, sister city relationship and other areas.
On behalf of the Zhongshan municipal government, Zhou Zuode welcomed the delegation and introduced Zhongshan's investment environment, culture and industrial strength. He said with the support from the Consulate General of Chile in Guangzhou, Zhongshan and Chillán have established a sister-city relationship and embarked on a new journey of friendly cooperation.
Zhou Zuode underlined that Zhongshan and Chillán are highly complementary in economy and have great potential for cooperation. Efforts should be made to build a display and sales center in Chillán to bring more high-quality products made in Zhongshan to the local market as well as to build a bridge for economic cooperation. He hoped more agricultural import/export enterprises in Zhongshan could visit Chillán for inspection, so as to gain an in-depth understanding of the local market and seek cooperation opportunities. He looked forward to more exchanges and cooperation in business, education and culture between Zhongshan and Chile and Chillán in the future.
