Mingyang's "Ocean X", the world's largest floating wind power platform, was put into operation in Yangjiang, Guangdong on December 11.
Independently developed by Mingyang Group, Ocean X is the first in the world to install two 8.3 MW offshore wind turbines on a floating platform, with a total capacity of 16.6 MW.
The platform has an approximate drainage capacity of 15,000 tons. It is located in Mingyang's offshore wind farm in Yangjiang, about 70 kilometers offshore and about 45 meters deep. It is expected to provide about 54 million kWh of green electricity every year, which can meet the daily demand of 30,000 families of three.
