François Balumuene, ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in China, visited Zhongshan with his colleagues on December 16. Ouyang Jinquan, deputy mayor of Zhongshan, met with the delegation. The two sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in economic, cultural and other fields.
Dr Milembolo Miantezila Junior from the DRC is currently working at the Zhongshan Institute of Changchun University of Science and Technology, and he is a core member of the intelligent embedded technology and emotional computing laboratory. This is a great example of people-to-people exchanges between the two places. Ouyang Jinquan hoped the two places could further promote common development and people-to-people exchanges, enabling more young people to become friendly ambassadors for the dissemination of Sino-Congolese friendship and jointly write a new chapter in youth exchanges.
François Balumuene introduced the relevant situation of the DRC. He noted that the DRC attaches great importance to its relations with China and hopes to carry out more exchanges and cooperation in agriculture, mining, science and technology and other fields to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Zhongshan has a robust science and technology industry. It is hoped to further promote the interaction in scientific research and talent training between the DRC and institutions including the Zhongshan Institute of Changchun University of Science and Technology.
