A delegation headed by Asadov Rizo Raupovich, deputy governor of Bukhara Region, Uzbekistan, and Sultanbek Imamov, consul general of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou, visited Zhongshan on December 18. Yang Haidong, vice mayor of Zhongshan, met with the delegation.

Yang Haidong briefed the delegation on the economic and social development of the city. He looked forward to further strengthened mutual understanding and friendly exchanges between Zhongshan and Bukhara Region. He also hoped to promote the cooperation between the two places through enhanced communication with the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou.

Asadov Rizo Raupovich noted that exchanges between Uzbekistan and China have provided new opportunities for cooperation between local governments of the two countries. He looked forward to enhanced communication with the Zhongshan government and Zhongshan enterprises. Zhongshan enterprises are welcome to invest in Bukhara.

Sultanbek Imamov expressed gratitude to Zhongshan for the warm reception. He believed that the meeting did provide an important platform for the two sides to exchange consensus and strengthen understanding. He looked forward to further cooperation in the future.

Bukhara is one of the important economic regions in Uzbekistan, mainly developing agriculture, textiles and tourism.
