In 2011, Frenchman Jeremy Guillou married a local girl and he moved to Zhongshan. He believes that Zhongshan is a livable city, and is very similar to his hometown, Nantes in France.
Jeremy grew up around a local brewery since childhood, and so it was natural for him to establish his own beer brand in Zhongshan. He feels that brewing beer is like making Cantonese soup, both of which require preserving the aroma and nutrients of the ingredients as much as possible.
He has also incorporated many local elements into his craft beers, such as Xiaolan chrysanthemums in his unique "Flower Beer", and Eucommia (or Duzhong, a traditional Chinese medicine) in the "Kung Fu Beer".
During his 14 years of living in Zhongshan, Jeremy also adapted to local customs and fell in love with the local cuisine. "The more I learn about the Chinese history and philosophy, the more I understand and the more I want to continue to learn more."
