The main steel structure of the Qijiang River Bridge was completed on October 4. Thereafter, ancillary facilities will be installed on the bridge deck.
The Qijiang River Bridge is expected to be complete by November 30 according to the current project schedule. It will connect Chengnan Road to the Cuijing Avenue section of South Outer Ring Road, easing traffic congestion on both sides of the Qijiang River and relieve traffic on Bo'ai Road.
The Bridge is about 1,340 meters long and the main bridge is 153 meters long. It is the first double-deck bridge in Zhongshan. The lower section of is part of the South Outer Ring Road, and the upper section is part of the Zhongshan-Kaiping Expressway.
Looking down from high above, the Qijiang River Bridge looks like "a huge rainbow spreading across the Qijiang River".
