China's Shenzhou-14 taikonauts touched down safely at the Dongfeng landing site in north China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on the night of December 4. The three taikonauts were carried out of the return capsule to special recliners for rest, and would return to Beijing in these recliners.
The special recliners were designed, developed and manufactured by SittingSense Technology Co Ltd in Zhongshan's Nantou Town under the guidance of space experts. The recliners embody the company's over six months of efforts in research and development.
"We upgraded the products on the basis of the recliners for the Shenzhou-13 taikonauts to provide better full-body support and meet taikonauts' certain space requirements," said Chen Min, founder and general manager of SittingSense, noting that safety, comfort and user-friendly features are their main considerations and the prominent features of the recliners.
Notably, the footrests of the recliners are engraved with "auspicious clouds" patterns and printed with the words "Welcome Home". "We hope the taikonauts can feel the joy of the Chinese people for their safe return through these details," said Chen.
