The 2022 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held in Guangzhou on December 21, attracting more than 300 multinational corporations. According to preliminary statistics, cooperative agreements were reached on 853 projects, with a total investment of 2.5 trillion yuan.

The 48 major projects signed at the meeting cover such fields as advanced manufacturing, biotech, next-generation information technology and food health, and more than 70% of them are manufacturing projects. Zhongshan's Zhuangyan GBA Chip City was among the 48 major projects.

The Zhuangyan GBA Chip City project is proposed to foster a main board-listed enterprise, introduce provincial integrated circuit research institutes, and gather the upstream and downstream resources of the electronic information industry, thus building an innovation highland and a strategic emerging industry base in the Greater Bay Area engaged in the R&D, production and sales of semiconductors.

Located at Cuiheng New District, the land for project use was acquired by Zhuangyan Technology (Guangdong) Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhuangyan Holding Group Limited, for 1.175 billion yuan. "Choosing Cuiheng New District is choosing the Greater Bay Area and the future," said Zhuang Hezhong, chairman of Zhuangyan Holding Group Limited.

Sixteen global investment promotion consultants of Guangdong, including the Zhongshan-based Danone (China) Food & Beverage Co Ltd (Danone China), and 18 regional headquarters of multinational corporations, including Zhongshan's Danone China, TKE Elevator (China) Co Ltd and Akeso Biopharma Co Ltd, were announced at the conference.
