On December 27, the Zhongshan Meteorological Planetarium opened to the public for the first time, receiving 30 citizens as the first visitors. It provides a learning and observation platform for citizens and astronomy enthusiasts.

Next, the Zhongshan Meteorological Planetarium will organize more activities, such as regular moon observations twice a month (generally scheduled for 8 pm-10 pm on the 15th and 16th days of the of the lunar calendar). Other observations will be scheduled flexibly for astronomical events like lunar eclipse, Supermoon and meteor shower.
