The 9th Games of Zhongshan and the 9th Games for the Disabled opened at Zhongshan Gymnasium on the morning of August 8.

The 9th Games of Zhongshan, featuring a total of 49 sports events, are divided into student group, adult group, and government department & public institution group. This year's Games of Zhongshan are the largest ever, with most sports events and medals.

The 9th Games for the Disabled feature a total of 10 sports events including 168 sub-events, and are the largest ever.

Up to 10,000 participants, including athletes, coaches and staff members, will take part in the competitions, also the most ever.
