On the morning of June 30, the opening ceremony of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link was held on the west artificial island of the Link. At around 10:50 am, the Link was officially opened.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, which runs across the estuary of the Pearl River, will begin trial operation at 3pm today, further promoting the integrated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The 24-km-long cross-sea link is a core transportation hub project in the GBA. It consists of one underwater tunnel, two bridges and two artificial islands, standing as one of the most challenging cross-sea project clusters in the world.
Now the travel time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan has been reduced from the previous two hours to approximately 30 minutes.
