Mingyang's "Ocean X", the world's largest monolithic floating wind power platform, arrived at the offshore wind farm in Yangjiang on August 13.
Previously on July 12, "Ocean X" that was independently developed by the Zhongshan-based Mingyang Group made debut in Guangzhou's Nansha. Later on August 11, "OceanX" set sail from the Nansha Port.
"Ocean X" features a V-shaped arrangement and is equipped with two 8.3 MW offshore wind turbines. With a total capacity of 16.6 MW, it can be applied to any ocean areas worldwide with water depth over 35 meters.
"Ocean X" is projected to generate approximately 54 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, which can meet the daily electricity needs of 30,000 families of three for a year.
