The 9th Games of Zhongshan is taking place from March to November, and the 9th Games for the Disabled are scheduled for August.

This year's municipal games feature 49 sports events. Players are categoried in three groups: students in town (district) with 27 events, adults in town (district) with 12 events, and government departments and public institutions with 10 events.

This year's municipal games for the disabled feature 10 sports events with 168 competitions.

On the afternoon of March 27, the judo competition for the town (district) students group wrapped up at Zhongshan Gymnasium. Mo Xinghua from Xiaolan won the boys' 44kg junior high school judo champion, claiming the first gold medal in the games. Torch Development Zone took 13 gold medals as the biggest winner in this event.
