Over 60 members of Zhongshan 2nd Choir (Zhongshan Teachers’ Choir) gathered in the auditorium of Zhongshan Experimental Middle School yesterday afternoon, where they had a rehearsal under the guidance of Lv Jia, well-known Chinese conductor and opera director of National Grand Theater. On the afternoon of September 24th, they will perform three chorus and two vocal accompaniments in the Global Concert of Chinese Artists hosted by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council.

Chorus activity has a solid mass foundation in Zhongshan city where choirs like Zhongshan Choir and Yue Li Choir are founded with a history of over 30 years. Invited to the show by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Zhongshan 2nd Choir will finish rehearsal in a month. Mainly presented through symphony and jointly performed by renowned Chinese artists from choirs at home and abroad, Global Concert of Chinese Artists is a significant event to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the founding of PRC and the 150th anniversary of Sun Yet-san’s birthday. The show is also intended to fulfill the spiritual and cultural demand from overseas Chinese, demonstrate the rich and profound Chinese culture, enhance the understanding and fondness of overseas Chinese and mainstream society towards Chinese culture, and to bond China and the world.
