In the final of 2014 China Robot Competition and the Robocup China Open, students from UESTC Zhongshan College win one special prize and two first prizes. The college has won 2 special prizes, 21 first prizes, and 12 second prizes since 2009.

The competition is the most influential and authoritative competition in robot technology, academy, and exhibition in China. Over 2000 contestants from 185 colleges attend the game, including the well-known Tsinghua University, Peking University, China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Sun Yat-sen University, etc.
