Over 5000 freshmen arrived in UESTC, Zhongshan institute on September 3rd, mostly high-score students. Green Path support project is set up to assist underprivileged students to succeed study here.

In 2016, while the nation-wide student admission plan of ZSC is 5000, 5122 students are admitted with 2445 liberal-arts, 2418 science, and 259 arts students, which is a successful completion of the scheduled recruitment task. Among them, 3792 are from Guangdong province (including 548 from Zhongshan) and 1330 from other provinces. Green Path support project is practiced to provide convenient admission procedure for needy students. Starting with the first semester, qualified students can apply for national student loans for up to 8000 yuan per year, monthly student subsidies for up to 300 yuan, and work-study positions on campus.
