In Dongsheng Primary School, there is a science teacher committed to making teaching supplies by himself to help kids learn scientific knowledge in a visual way. During the 19 years of teaching, Mr. Hu Tianyong has handmade more than 20 various tools out of waste materials. Talking about this hobby, Mr. Hu said: “Even though it takes a lot of time and energy, the efforts pay off when I see that abstract science classes, aided by these tools, become interesting. Motivated by this sense of fulfillment, I just cannot stop my steps along the way I first ventured into by accident.” Hu’s colleagues all view him as a scientist, saying that he is a “legend”.
