On the afternoon of August 17, the Information Office of the Zhongshan People's Government held the 64th press conference on epidemic prevention and control to introduce the overall situation, the recent inspection of imported frozen meat and aquatic products, and response measures. More than 300 primary and secondary schools in Zhongshan will open on time on September 1. Primary and junior high schools in Zhongshan will implement detailed measures to prevent and control COVID-19 in the autumn and winter semesters.
As of August 16, no new local confirmed cases have been reported in Zhongshan for 187 consecutive days, no new confirmed cases have been transmitted from other cities for 182 consecutive days, and no new confirmed cases have been transmitted from abroad for 158 consecutive days.
Zhongshan has continuously strengthened the dynamic analysis, evaluation, monitoring and early warning systems for COVID-19. Active monitoring at checkup points will be further strengthened. Zhongshan's 27 key hospitals have all set up fever clinics and isolated beds. Since the nucleic acid test has become available, fever clinics have received 173,612 patients and 157,441 people have been tested from January 31 to August 14 this year.
Since June this year, Zhongshan has set up a special epidemic prevention and control teams in farmers' markets, and has continuously normalized epidemic prevention and control measures in frozen, humid and cramped places in farmers' markets and supermarkets.
At present, there are just over10 days before the autumn semester starts. According to the unified requirements of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, about 15,000 third-grade students in 17 ordinary high schools in Zhongshan have returned to their classes.
