The former Zhongshan Sanxiang Polytechnic School and Tanzhou Polytechnic School of Zhongshan merged this year and were renamed as "Zhongshan Modern Vocational and Technical School". The new school was unveiled on October 28.
The new school has Sanxiang school district and Tanzhou school district, covering a total area of 205 mu (about 13.6 hectares). In addition to high quality classrooms, training rooms, sports grounds and indoor stadiums, there are also various fields for many different activities such as the golf course.
At present, the school has set the following majors: Tourism Service and Management, Operation and Management of Star Hotels, Golf, Chinese and Western-style Cuisine, International Cruises, Graphic Design, International Commerce, E-commerce, Logistics, Numerical Control, Industrial Robotics, Electrical Operations, Jewelry Processing, etc.
The school now has 94 classes with more than 4,000 students, 279 full-time teachers, and 30 part-time teachers.
Liu Weisi, secretary of the Party committee and principal of Zhongshan Modern Vocational and Technical School, said that in the future, efforts will be made to develop specialized "Nutrition and Chinese Cooking" and "Electronics Operation and Control" major groups to help with industrial development and contribute to the revitalization of Zhongshan.
