Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School, Zhongshan Agricultural Science and Technology Promotion Center and UESTC, Zhongshan Institute on January 25 signed a contract to jointly build the "Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School 'Gengdu Garden' Labor Education Practice Base".

The practice base will take advantage of the existing over 66.6 hectares of labor land plots in the school to carry out activities such as the agricultural knowledge popularization, farming practices and the "second classroom".

The base is divided into crop area, flower area, vegetable area, fruit tree area, herbal medicine area, poultry breeding area, technical area and others, which will be used by different classes under the contract responsibility system. At the same time, professional teachers and parents with farming experience will be invited to provide guidance to students to carry out such projects as "Rice-Shrimp Co-cultivation", "Chinese Herbal Medicine Garden", "Fragrance Garden" and "Vegetable Planting Base with New Varieties and Technologies".

"The Gengdu Garden project is an important attempt in labor education for our school. I hope students can have fun with  the labor experience," said Zhou Jiangang, vice principal of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School.
