The unveiling ceremony of the "Maritime Education and Training Base of Guangzhou Maritime Institute" (Zhongshan) was held at Tengbu Wharf on the Shenwan Waterway on February 6.

The training base covers an area of 5.3 hectares complete with teaching buildings, dormitory buildings, museums, multi-functional AV rooms, halls, and so on.

The training base will be put into use in the second half of this year and plans to enroll 3,000 to 4,000 students to carry out marine competency training, sailor mechanic training, yacht operator training, maritime skill certificate training, etc as well as education training.
